I've had a couple computer-friends help me and we found at least one of the programs that's causing me trouble (my homepage has changed and so has my IE toolbar... to porno stuff) The program is winvyo32.exe However, we can't delete it! It says "access denied" and that it might be currently running. I checked my running processes and there isn't anything with that title. Can anyone help me? My AOL screen name is "Meringuei" and I'm always on if you want to help me that way!

Hi meringuei, Do a google search for these 2 small programs. They might help
    CWShredder and HiJackThis.
They should help get rid of what you have.

You may also have to run Regedit from the RUN location, find the files manually and delete them there. Just be sure you don't delete items you need.

Try clicking start--search and type in that virus name. It should give you the location where its at. Then try deleteing it from there. If you find it and delete it, empty the recycle bin right away. Some of those re-activate quickly.

If you can't delete it, see if you can rename it and change the .exe

www.antivirus.com and do a housecall online virus scan. and make sure you have the auto clean box checked. But if it does not remove it it will tell you how to.

I have the same problem. www.antivirus.com house call did not find the virus (windows/system32/winvyo32.exe). Will not delete or rename. Have Norton Anti-virus resident. It finds virus but cannot clean or delete. Any other suggestions?

push control+alt+delete, then find the process, (winvyo32.exe) and press "End Process" then click yes or ok if a window pops up, then, make sure you have a Explorer window open and the file clicked on, as soon as winvyo32.exe disappears from the list, press Shift+Delete, this will delete it and bypass the "Recycle" Bin.

When I open list of running processes, "winvy032" is not in the list. Could it possibly be called another name in the process list?

spybot search and destroy, or ad-aware might work.

Do a search for a program called Move on boot and run it, then navigate to the file you want to be deleted and delete on next boot. If it comes back then it is something "bigger".

You will beable to delete them with this software,
    it works excellent.
But you should use adaware and spybot with it, due to the fact that one program cant see everything on your comp.
So use this and let us know if you'd recommend it to anyone else.

True enough. I use actually three programs to get ridd of ad ware

    Spy sweeper
    Xoftspy
    Ad-Aware

Some programs catch spyware that others left behind.
Thats why I use three, can never have enough protection

Off topic, sorry but cant find out how for the likes of me.

Oh ya, I also used spy sweeper, but everytime I used it, it found the same thing, to a tee.
even right after a scan and a reboot..

    thanks..

Not sure if this might help but find the program and, and remember where it is, restart in "safe mode" without network and try deleting it then, if that doesnt work, still in safe mode, try running 2 or 3 ad removers.
    Hope this works for ya
