I installed Nero7 today and now cannot play dvd's

    I installed Nero7 today and now I cannot play any dvd movies on my computer. I have tried using Intervideo and Windows Media Player but they cannot detect the disk either. Any advice would be appreciated.

    When installing certain programs, it's often too easy to overlook what types and file associations are being modified. Go through your nero player settings and un-check "types of file to play" box to dvd files and then re-tick the box to "play" in your favourite media player.

    I managed to find Nero ProductSetup in the tools but not the player settings. A little new at this, is there a specific point to find the settings?

    Just right click the movie file and select properties then select opens with and change it to windows media player and select apply see if that works
