i just got a eurovox clone help

hi just purchased a eurovox but turns out to be a clone, hadnt realised until i had downloaded the software now dead
is there anyway i can get the original fta firmware back onto it
i thought i had ordered the ex5100 pvr but hadnt and got the ex5000 clone

 

no if its bricked by the firmware, contact yer supplier and advise them

 

hi i am planning on contacting them but as i have changed the software dosent that make the warranty invalid

 

doesnt selling ya a clone not make it invalid, if its a clone box then they are liable, not you

 

can i actually name the supplier on here ?

 

have contacted the supplier and said i have received clone was told to go to the website an submit a returns form

 

thats grand, but be sure they dont send ya another one,

name the supplier, to make others aware

 

wont be buying from satellite&cableltd unless i get a full refund, its prob going to cost me to return items

 

well to be fair, the cost of returns to a supplier is the same for all suppliers, they aint gonna cover the cost of return shipping, they will cover the repair or replacement of the boxs, but shipping no.

 

fair point just annoyed with myself for being do stupid should be gratefull they may do something about it

 

bit of luck ya will get sorted, but always buy from reputable sources and genuine equipment, for the sake of a few bob in the differance,

 

so who would you recomend? please

its a cloned box and the firmware bricked it, so dont let them fob you off about who manufactures what, the firmware for those boxs were made with the intent to kill "cloned" versions of the 5000, the firmware was designed by the offcial makers of that box to do this, the cloned boxs were identified by the silver heatsink and the firmware was stated to kill clone versions,

yes they look like the pic with the silver heat sink, havent opened them as i have an original ex5000 which i purchased not long after they were available so looked through the vents to identify
mine (orifinal is black the 2 i received yesterday are silver
will wait to see what comes back fronm my email, i mentioned how i had identified them as clones ( silver heat sink and poor quality, plus loop is slightly bent on one box)also the fact i had trawled forums to identify

 

and the money shot, Firmware killed it

 

all quiet on the western front, no email this morning from them, so have asked if i send back will they replace with the ex5100 and i will pay the difference, will post here if i get a reply

 

i paid via paypal i am now wondering if i should try going down that road for a refund
