Do I have to buy hardware to view DVD on my computer? I have heard it is a matter of just downloading the right software, but I'll be damned if I can find any verification of this. Anyone know anything about this? - in other words : HHHHELLLLPPP!
Well, obviously you need a DVD-ROM drive before you can read the actual DVD discs -- regular CD-ROM drive can't handle DVDs. But other than that, if you have relatively fast PC (like 400MHz P2 or above) with some relatively fast graphics adapter, you should be fine without any additional hardware decoders. Just use some software DVD player to play your DVD discs, like WinDVD or PowerDVD and you should be good to go.
