with a router and hub there should no be any problems for port forwarding ???

so every computer on the network acts like a server ??

or i will still have to do manual port forwarding for some programs ??

some programs will require you to set the port forwarding in the router, but this only takes seconds. However I will say choose your router carefully. Some are easier to configure than others.

im not an expert for the truth i have no experience so if you can help me how to choose a good reliable router and not complicated it will be greight.

i have a stupid question what is the main difference between a router and a hub ?
since i can use a hub alone and i can use a router and a hub in the same time ...

generally speaking you get what you pay for. I did have a linksys router and for the most part it was great. I had to reset it every once in a while but otherwise ok.

My ISP recently upgraded us to 10Mbit and the linksys was capped at 5, so I bought a new Belkin router - works a treat. I get full 10Mbit and have never had to restart it. also works fine with PPTP / VPN, IPSEC etc..

Wireless seems to be the fashion at the moment, but to be honest i still see too many posts from ppl having problems. IMO i would stay wired for now.

HUB: basicly a dumb switch for network traffic

Router: a lot more capable in terms of controlling that traffic and creating an aditional layer of security for your network.

    it seems clear tx :)

i resolved the problem i had with help of other forums of course the problem i had is that :

the firewall of windows is the one who do the port forwarding
so i reactivated it and did the port forwarding manually using it that was the thing to do ...

in windows ICS the firewall is the program to use for manual port forwarding i did it and it works well now i have the p2p program functioning well on the client pc.

i will try to use router and hub on more pc´s just to know how it works but for the moment im a little busy so i wont buy anything but in 2-3 months i will.

and i will surely need your help!! so i´ll talk to you in private messages later on tx for your precious help.
