    Hi, I hope you can help me!

    As you can tell by my username, I'm a Teknofobe!

    I have some video's on my computer that are avi (so I'm told) and I want to copy/transfer them onto a DVD so that I can watch it on my DVD player.

    What do I have to do?????? Help please!

    Is there someone who can give me an "idiot's guide" on how to do it. I've been told that I have to convert the video to DIVX or something similar and then I have to burn it. Where do I find this free software and then what do I do?

    I apologise in advance if this is hard work for you, but I am new to this.

    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi there,

    VSO ConvertXtoDVD will convert all your video files to DVD, with a very simple interface.

    It also has a built in burn engine.

    So 1 software does it all, and easy to use.

    It's not FREE but worth every $$$

    My 2 cents...

    @Teknofobe

    The above guide that gwendolin has link to will work. To answer your question. When you import the AVI file into Nero Vision it is converting the AVI file to DVD compliant files then burning them to disc for you to watch on your DVD player all in 1 step.

    You can also use the program that cougar_ii has suggested. I actually use ConvertXTODvd now for all my conversions. (AVI/NTSC to PAL)

    I used to use Nero Vision all the time but since trying the ConvertXTODVD program out I am hooked. So much faster and the quality is pretty good. The downside is it cost money. So if you already have Nero Vision Express and do not want to invest into the other program then just know that Nero Vision will also do this for you.
