hi i just got the evolution x remote x-V1.8.458 in my x box. i went to check around ad went to launch menu.then apps.and i went to XBCopy.i did it to 1 of my games to see what would happen and i did it twice now i noticed i have hardly have any space left on my x box.is it because of that or is would it be something else.some one please help me and reply.thanks, iversonjr
XBCopy, makes a copy from the DVD drive to the Xbox Hard drive. So since you have done this twice you now have two copies of this game on your Hard drive, and since most games are a couple GB's, you wouldn't have much roome left on a stock hard drive. Ususally it creates a directory (xbcopy001) which contains all the files found on the DVD. You can easily delete this directory and it's files by using your ftp program or another program like xbox explorer.
ok so it is that.could you reply and give me help to delete it because i am new and im not sure how to connect with the ftp i have tryed but didnt figure it out.thanks alot, iversonjr
connecting via ftp: 1. first, you need to setup your evox.ini to allow for ftp/networking (which you can edit on your xbox by going to advanced settings, make sure you have YES next to FTP, Setup Network. 2. once you have the settings changed, hook your xbox up to your pc via a router and network cable or a crossover network cable and a network card. flashfxp is the most highly recommended ftp program for this. 3. with flashfxp, connect to your xbox's ip (this is set in the evox.ini or in the advanced settings on evolution x dashboard; if you have a router with a dhcp server, it assigns ips automatically, again check your advanced settings to see if it shows your IP and if your network is present) 4. once you ftp into your xbox, you will see list of folders (c,d,e,f,etc..) the main ones you need to worry about are the C and E. Most likely your games are being saved to your e folder, just browse there and then into the games folder (if you have xboxcopy save to that folder), then delete the folder that is the game. hope that helps, try to do a search if you have more ?s, there are tons of threads related to ftp problems.. peace seamonkey420
