If you are not experiencing data loss and SeaTools reports File System Structure errors, they may be caused by a lock-up or failure to shutdown Windows correctly. Many times, these errors may be repaired through normal system maintenance. If you are experiencing a hardware error, you should isolate the cause and replace the failing component. If you are unsure how to proceed with repairs, contact a computer professional. After completing any maintenance tasks, run SeaTools again to verify that all errors have been repaired. If errors continue to occur, the system may not be stable. Again, contact a computer professional. If you have experienced a data loss, cease drive operation immediately. Hey mann75! It appears that you have problems with the disk surface. I would run a low level formatting utility and see if the bad sectors are recoverable. If your diagnostic utility has this option you should use it. ALL DATA ON DISK WILL BE LOST. If your utility doesn't have the low level formatting option, go to this link and download Maxtor Powermax. http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads8.html It will ask you to make a bootable floppy and run from cold start. Pick the FULL low level format-- it will run for about four to six hours maybe longer. This utility writes 0s to your drive-the way it was when new. When it is done try to install an operating system. GOOD LUCK!
