HI! I was wondering. I am thinking of building a computer but first i have a question. If i buy a motherboard do i have to worry about the holes in the motherboard aligning with the holes in the case? and i mean the holes that secure the motherboard into the case. NOT the holes that go throught the back of the case for the printer port, ps/2 ports etc...

firstly, you should get e.g. an atx motherboard for an atx case, match them up or, they won't fit.

When screwing the motherboard in, you'll find that not all of the holes will line up, but you don't need all of them to line up anyway.

I just instaled a motherboard, about 12 screw positions for standoffs in the case but only 8 or so on the motherboard, i just removed all standoffs that did not corespond to motherboard holes and fitted them where they did match up.

    no problems setting this up.
