i need help! i modded my xbox with xbmc and i was playing around with the mc360 skin and was adding a new theme to it, while i was ftp'ing it over i applied it by accident and now all that comes up is a black screen when i turn it on. i tried connecting to FTP but it givs me about 3 seconds of connection to the xbox harddrive at a time which allowes me to do NOTHING.

Try using a boot disk or just use the game you used to soft mod originally. The exploit save should allow you to FTP and correct the problem.

Ah, so you have one of the ancient Xbox versions like I do :)

That spot is sealed with solder on version 1.0, but later versions aren't for whatever reason.

If you like, go to Radio Shack or some other electronics shop and get some desoldering braid. Looks like a copper ribbon, basically. You can use it to remove the solder and install the chip.
