I NEED SOME HELP ASAP!

    My Computer DOesn't Read My Hard Drive And When I Start The XP setup it freezes when it say the are opening windows xp setup.....Can Somone PLz Help Me????...Cuz My Computer Was Working Find Yesterday

    If the computer can start to open windows xp setup, its reading the hard disk alright... Why have you suddenly launched into xp setup anyway?
    Meddling with settings you do not understand is a recipe for disaster...

    Well if I'm right then you probably have formatted your hard drive and your sitting at the microsoft setup of windows with the registation and general information.On most emachine computers that I had troubleshoot that locked up on setup we had to tell the customer to remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard for a few minutes.For some reason setup is controlled by CMOS.remove all 3rd party peripherals such as printer etc.Just basic components of the keyboard mouse and monitor.Or if that's not the case I would check the HDD cable or reseat the connections to the drive.Make sure the HDD jumper is set in the correct place.Of coure just like sammorris said you are getting a windows screen from the hard drive so you can rule that out.

    formatting an hdd doesnt just happen like that, something must have happened...

    thakidd if you have a floppy disc WITH a card reader you will have to UNPLUG the card reader to load windows ,then plug it back in AFTER windows is loaded

    I have a card reader and floppy disk, and when i installed windows on a blank disk i didn't encounter any problems...
