Hi, I have a couple blu ray titles that are in .MKV format. They are about 10-11 gigs a piece. I want to be able to fit these on a DL DVD and play them in my PS3. My problem is: I can't get past the ripbot stage. I am using tsMuxer 1.8.4. After demuxing, I'm left with 2 files (track 1 .264 and track 2 AC3). I changed H264 level from 5.1 to 4.1. because I'm trying to get it to fit on a DL DVD disc. This is what the screen tsMuxer says after demuxing stage:

    Change H264 level from 5.1 to 4.1
H.264 muxing fps not set. Get fps from stream.
H264 bitstream changed: insert nal unit delimiters
H264 bitstream changed: insert pict timing and buffering period SEI units
    Decoding AC3 stream (track 2): Bitrate: 640Kbps Sample Rate: 48KHz Channels: 6
B-pyramid level 1 detected. Shift DTS to 2 frames
    Processed 217676 video frames
    Demux complete.
Demuxing time: 13 min 36 sec

Now, when it's done demuxing, I open up tsMuxer again and load up both files (.264 and the AC3). For output, I select M2TS muxing and click "start muxing". Here is what the screen says when it's done:

    SmartLabs tsMuxeR. Version 1.8.4(b) http://www.smlabs.net
    Decoding H264 stream (track 1): Profile: High@4.1 Resolution: 1920:800p Frame rate: 23.976
H.264 muxing fps not set. Get fps from stream.
    Decoding AC3 stream (track 2): Bitrate: 640Kbps Sample Rate: 48KHz Channels: 6
B-pyramid level 1 detected. Shift DTS to 2 frames
H264 bitstream changed: insert SPS/PPS units
    Processed 217676 video frames
    Mux successful complete.
Muxing time: 17 min 52 sec

Now I have 2 files (mpeg-2 and .meta). I open up ripbot and load the mpeg-2 and ripbot progress bar says"indexing video stream" and then "demuxing audio streams". after it's done, windows media player classic opens and it says "cannot render the file".

This is where I'm stuck. I hope someone will help me. Sorry about the long post but I tried to be as specific as possible. Also, I have tried this without changing the H264 to 4.1 and leaving it the way it is at 5.1 with the same result. Thanks

I'm not exactly sure what ripbot is, but i have taken a .mkv file and put it on a dl-dvd for my ps3. What I did is open the .mkv file in tsmuxer and chose the create a bluray disc option. after thats done you just pop the bdmv and certificate folder onto a dl-dvd and you're done. my files were small enough to fit, once you've got a small enough .m2ts or .mkv file i assume it would work the same way.

Thanks for the response. Do you know of any program that will shrink it to fit on DL. In tsmuxer I changed the H264 level from 5.1 to 4.1 only because I read that's what I'm suppose to do to have it play on my PS3. I'm hoping by doing that, it will shrink the file down to fit on DL but I'm not sure. Ok, The file is actually bigger now... It went from 10.1 gb to 10.6. I'm totally lost! I hope someone can tell me how to get This to play in my PS3 via a dual layer DVD.

You need to re-encode at a lower bit rate to reduce the file size. "Handbrake" is the answer.
