Got this particular DVD Burner a few months back and have the latest Firmware for it installed from I/O Magic's Webpage. I have tried 3 different kinds of DVD+R 8x Media but none seem to burn complete DVD at 8x speed. Half way thru the burn procedure, there is error that comes up and halts the burn process. I have used Alcohol 120% and Latest Nero Burning Rom programs and both burn the DVD at a much lower speed than 8x (for most part at 4x). Then about 65% completion rate, both programs halt the burn process by indicating error and thats it...IS there a particular fix to this problem or is everyone else experiencing problems burning at 8x. FYI, the max writing speed in this drive is for DVD+R Media @ 8x. DVD-R media max burning speed is 4X. Thanks for any help in the matter.
I have a i/o magic external drive with the same problem i have not been able to use ant +r media, only -r to burn video dvds, and the drive never works with nero backup or another harddrive backup program i have no matter the media.
I have successfully burned at 4x. I am just puzzled to see that I cant burn at 8x. I have a p4 2.4 GHz Pentium with 512 MB Ram.
