ok im alil confused on how i should be getting audio from my PC to my new HDTV. here is a pic of the back of my tv : ok now starting from the top left it has "audio out". then it has "AV1 IN 1" that is for the s-video cable and the composite(RCA) inputs for analog audio and video. Next it has Component in with two RCA jacks for the audio with the component video. Next it has "digital audio out/optical" which i have no idea how to set up(im assuming its for external surround sound speakers). Then it has "service 1" and service" which i have no idea what these are for? Next has two HDMI inputs with one of the inputs having the option to use DVI and audio input for it. Now the next part is where im confused at. it has a vga input and for the vga input, it has just one audio in (black in colored) input. What is this input called? is it just a headphone jack in? how do i get audio from my pc to this tv using that input?????
looks very similar to the back of mine, also a Samsung. I would like to hear that answer myself. I have not tried hooking up a PC yet. So the PC input only carries the picture? I am assuming that you have plugged it in and tried it. It does look a lot like a headphone jack type of input.
well i havent tried it yet cuz i havent gotten the tv shipped yet. i ordered it last week from datavis.com on a pre order. it should be here in a week
According to Samsung's website it is a standard 3.5mm or 1/8 inch PC audio input. Connect your sound card's output to the Samsung's pc audio input using this cable: http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...&cs_id=1021802&p_id=645&seq=1&format=2&style=
ohhh ok then i can just get that 25ft vga cable with the 3.5mm stereo cable connected onto it from monoprice. its like 13 bucks. not bad. Whats the difference between the red and yellow cables comapred to the stereo input?????? i know thered and yellow is analog, is the stereo one digital?
The stereo input is not digital - it is analog. I don't see a digital audio input in your picture - only an output. The HDMI input will carry both digital video and audio. If you have a separate audio system - dolby digital receiver and 5.1 or better speakers - it would be better to do a digital connection from your pc's audio card to the receiver.
UMM u see where it says PC IN...well use a VGA TO VGA cable for picture then plug the sound which should be a mini phono plug with stereo ends from the black output of your sound card to the black input of the PC IN connector. It should look like this on both ends http://www.plasticrevolver.com/quarter-72a.jpg
