Unfortunately, you are gonna need a chip now, get yourself a Spider Chip for $29.99, its the cheapesr non-solder chip you can buy, not to mention this is the cheapest fix... Once you get the chip installed and it boots to the install screen, insert a Slayer's or AID disc, then FTP into your Xbox and repair/restore your C folder.

Spider chips suck, you can grab a SmartXX LT OPX SE chip for $28.99

Did you flash over both banks? What size was the bios you flashed on the chip?

@jimmy42, I agree the Spider Chip is not a very good chip compared to others if you are looking for a fulltime chip but, its the best chip to use for disaster recovery and heres why its not bios specific to use, meaning you just put it in, turn on your Xbox put in a installer disc and it will boot to the installer disc, thereby giving you the ability to restore your M$ Dash. You can't do that with any high dollar chip because they have their own OS installed, with a Spider Chip in hand you'd be able to fix any problem by FTPing into your Xbox and deleting and replacing your C & E folders, thats why I keep two on hand, one for versions 1.0-1.5 the other for 1.6 versions. Its the Xbox equivalent to a set of jumper cables. Lets, say for instance my xbox is fragging has Xmas lights going, I install a spider chip, it will now boot to the spider chip screen, I insert a slayer's disc and select restore back to factory settings. I now have a working Xbox when before nothing worked, I now have the option of attempting another hard or soft mod again, and if I mess it up again, its just rinse and repeat, the reprogrammer and the other item mentioned give you no such flexibility, because they are specific tools design to work with a specific OS or specific chip.

ya im pretty sure i flashed over both banks..my xbox is 1.0 i dont know if that makes a difference...is the duo x2 considered useless now? if i were to get another chip, such as that spider wouldnt the chip have to go in the same area as the current mod chip is in? thanks guys

You just take out that chip and install a spider chip, but I dont recommend that you keep the spider chip in your Xbox. Once you boot with the spider chip put in the AID v3.0 disc and do a softmod and save yourself from spending anymore cash. I just wrote about how to do a fast an easy install the key is once your Xbox is running the AID v3.0 disc you have FTP capability. So you would follow this method:

You'll need Mech Assault or Splinter Cell, platinum versions do not matter! Get it used from any videogame store for $6.

The Auto Installer Deluxe v3.0 disc download it from just about anywhere.

Place the AID disc in your Xbox, follow the path below, X being the letter of your Xbox's DVD drive, extract these files to your PC.

X:\Auto.Installer.Deluxe.v3.0.Xbox-Hq\Auto.Installer.Deluxe.v3.0.Xbox-Hq\Tools\SID 3.1 Final, from here extract these files:

    SID31.Final.Launcher, SID31.Loader.SplinterCell.NTSC, and SID31.Loader.Mechassault.

Now restore your M$ dash using the utlity on the AID v3.0 disc.

Unzip the files and FTP them back to the Xbox to the following location E:/UDATA/

Now, restart your Xbox, take out the AID disc and place it into your PC.

Insert either Mech Assault or Splinter Cell game, in your Xbox now from here follow the guidelines in the Softmod Installer Deluxe 3.1 Manual, Chapter 8, its on the AID disc in PDF format so make sure you have a PDF reader.

thanks shademand i appreciate the help, can you still do all the features with a softmod as a chip? i was planning on eventually putting a bigger hard drive so i can put games via ftp or dvd2xbox is that still possible? i guess ill just google that shit im sure theres a bunch of info out there... i already have the AID 3.0 disc, i think the big problem will be taking out the chip and putting in the spider chip. btw wheres the best place to get the chip? again thanks for the help

Theres is hardly any difference between a hard and a soft modded Xbox, infact if I did not tell people that I softmodded their Xbox they would go around thinking they had a chip installed www.xbox-modchips.com, this site claims they have them but most recently I had to get some from www.divineo.cn, however they are currently showing that they are out of stock and the spider chip website has disappeared all together. If you get your hands on one I have the install guide in PDF form available for you. Unfortunately, I have only dealt with two brands of modchips over the years Xenium & the Spider chip other brands I no nothing of. I really never understood the issue of having these big hard drives, why pay $150 for a 300 Gb hard drive, if the HDD goes bad there goes all your games too, why not just burn them all to a DVD instead seems cheaper to me, for $150 I could buy (7) packs of 100 neXXtech DVD-Rs, thats 700 + games or movies, gonna put that many on a HDD?

boston84: really stay away from the SPIDER chips they are TOTAL TRASH. Worst made modchip on the market today....

You can get a so called High end or High Dollar mod such as the SMARTXX LT OPX for $28.99 it is a very capable chip, has its own OS. The OS comes in very useful for times like this one where you flash the bios wrong, you can recover.

Or you can grab your self an Xecuter 2.6 LITE chip for ~$33 and there is always a programmer available if your flash fails :)

Your statement only makes my point more relevant, you totally missed the point of my post, a chip that has its own OS is exactly why, he is in that predicament. However, you are entitled to your opinion on this matter.
