i just got my no solder chameleon with adapter. i installed it and then booted up and a the cromwell screen came up fine. i never change the dipp setting the chip came in.but i flashed it with bios(evox d.6bin and evox d.6 eject fix) now when i boot up the regular xbox logo comes up. but there is no lights on my chameleon chip.and it wont read any more cd/rw when i try to install a new dashboard. what did i do wrong?
If ever you want to flash the bios again but this time with the Evox M7 (it is better) then change the dip switches to an other bank (like 2 or 3) and then you'll get the linux screen again... insert the bios cd and after that replace the switches to the factory setting.
it boots up to the normal microsoft dash.also i haave moved the dip switches over and over again to diffrent banks and all the xbox does is turn itself on and off? also my chameleon doesnt blink blue its just blinks one time red when i turn it on then it turns right off like a blink of an eye.
Have you tried playing a backup game? Because if you don't have a new dashboard installed it is normal that the chameleon don't flash because M$ dashboard don't support the blinking of the chameleon led
no i havent i cant back them up yet since i cant network it till i ftp it.i am going to try to burn the evox dash to it with dvd-rw today. so do u think my chip is still ok. everytime i burn the iso for the dashborn it telss me it cant read the disk?
Remove the adapter then reinstall it again... maybe it desaligned or the D0 wire could have moved a little bit. If that doesn't work it means that you have a bad flash!
thanks i dont know if the bios is bad when i installed it. it did what it was supposed todo it flashed then rebooted. i just cant get it to read anything else i am using the same cdrw that i used to flash the chip.
I just thought of something!!!! When you uncompress the dashboard file on your pc first you have to rename the file evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe then configure the .INI file for your network (you won't be able to do it later) and then make an .ISO of all the files with ISOCraxtion and then burn the iso to your CD-RW! Drop me news about that!
yep i done all this still no luck.may i should just buy a new chip and start all over since i can get my original cromwell bios to booy up again? what u think mike
How come you don't have the cromwell? You flashed all 4 banks? There should be a copy of it on one of the 4 banks!
i think i might of but the bios was only 256kb times 2 i think i might of done all 4 by mistake. what now?
Try to put your hands on a programmer, it will simplify flashing your chip with any bios. Don't ask me where to buy one since the only place I know of are out of stock on this item!
i seen othet places on the net that say they have it to sell but i dont know if they are legit. maybe i should take a chance?
