I was one of those that bought a dell dj, (don't want to hear it,) well now the damn thing won't sync to my pc. It still charges with the adapter so I know its not that. Its been acting up for awhile now, anyway, I need a new mp3 player. I really like the ipods, but I mostly use, (99.9% of the time,) it at work. I do construction. If I don't have it plugged into my portable radio its in my tool belt. It scares me to get an Ipod, it doesn't seem like it wood hold up. I guess it doesn't matter what u get and/or where ur using it, problems r sure to occur. My ? is what do you guys think is worth the price. I'm looking at the 30gb Ipod. My wife has a nano and the kid has a shuffle which have lived up to the hype so far. But Im not workin out, riding my bike or dancin on the streets of New York. If you were a construction worker would you buy a Ipod. Sad thing is, when they design mp3 players they don't think about us. I wood like any opinions any of you have. Thank-you.

If your a construction I wouldn't suggest buying an ipod. I was a student in construction for a few months and I broke my poor nano's screen. Try looking up these to mp3 players. Oregon Scientific MP120 (512MB) and the Sony NW-S23 S2 Sports Network Walkman. Hope this helps.

depends on what your doing in construction....i say this because i have an iPod and im very satisfied with its performance. i weight lift daily and run several times a week. i always take my iPod with me. i have the 30GB model that i bought the sportswrap for so i don't have to worry about dropping it or anything, and usually i'll run the cord for the headphones up my sleeve so i don'thave to worry about wires tangling or getting caught. as always get what you want, but something to consider...

U no what, that is as cool as sh... I do appreciate ur guys opinions. My thing know is that My dj is fully functional, except I can't get the damn thing to sync with pc. When I plug it into the usb port it lights up but pc still says that its not connected. I would be more than willing to chuck in trash if I knew for sure it was a paper weight, thing is that I have realized is that it quit being recognized after a installed software 4 ipods. I know most of u care less about the dell or its products, but please help if u can. I would luv nothin more than to have an excuse 2 buy a new player, but I don't think this ones dead yet. I have searched the internet up and down and Dell won't help when its out of warranty. Big surprise I know. Thank-You.
