Depends on what do you want to do with the file. Do you have a DVD player that supports avi and you want to be able to watch the movie on your TV or is for storage or something like that?

probably there are many software that you can use.The only software that I personally used and I m familiar with is Winavi 7.1. Do you have it?

    Try this with Winavi:
Open Winavi and click on the icon [bold]Avi[/bold]. It will open an window to browse your HDD. Select the 750Mb file that you want to shrink. Now, click on the tab [bold]Advanced[/bold]. Untick the tab that says :[bold]"Split the output file"[/bold] (if it is ticked). Now click the tab that is next to [bold]Video Encoder[/bold], the one on the right that has a dotted line. On the next page click [bold]"Bitrate Calculator"[/bold]. Under file size, tick the line that has a drop down window. Choose 650Mb CD-R. Then click [bold]accept[/bold]....convert the file.
Let me know if it works.I personally never had to try it.
