Im having a problem with IE6. While browsing websites through it,it will all of a sudden cause the computer to restart and comes up with this computer has recovered from a serious error. I have searched on numerous forums and microsft to find the answer and though i had it sorted with the newest java installed but lo and behold it hasn't stopped. when i need to get on a site which needs cookies supported, i have a limited time before it restarts on me.

I also am using aol as well and this is fine for browsing the web and i have not had 1 crash through it yet, and this makes no sense as ol is based around IE as well as Firefox which also crashed like IE when i used.

I have recently got a new computer and im using the same OS that i had on the previous computer. This worked fine and i have got all the various updates from microsoft etc. It happenend towards the end of using the old computer and i thought a good wipe would solve it but i now have the problem on both computers.

This is what comes up after it restarts with the serious error:

    error signature

    BCP4: 00000000 OSVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 2_0 Product: 256_1

any help is much appreciated, cheers

Have you scanned your system for spyware and adware?

Strange that it restarts, but it might be worth doing anyway.
