Hi can anyone tell me if I can get an adaptor for a 4 pin to 4 pin iLink digital video cable for my Dell Inspiron 1300 notebook. Thanx in advance.
You don't need an adaptor just the righ cable. If your laptop has 4 pin connection you just need a cable with a 4-pin connector at each end. Google for "4 Pin to 4 Pin FireWire Cables" and you will find plenty. Otherwise a standard 4 to 6 pin cable.
Right, if you don't have Firewire on your laptop, you can buy a Firewire PCMCIA card. Google for these terms and you will find plenty
Can I get a usb to firewire adaptor cable for my laptop, it does NOT have a PCMCIA slot, it has an EXPRESS card slot instead. Thanks in advance
There is no scuh thing as a Firewire to USB adaptor or cable. The protocols are completely incompatible with eachother. Express slots are a relatively new standard and I understood that there are Firwire cards for that appearing on the market. You may have to wait a couple of times before they spread around.
