    Hi,

The version you download from this site will be a 30 day trial after which you either buy it or uninstall it.

If you do purchase it, it will be good for free updates usually until they release the next major revision such Nero 7 or something like that. I just bought Nero 6 Ultra on disc for $50 and it is well worth the $$.

I would also have to agree with being satisfied using Nero 6 Ultra. I got it a while ago (don't remember what I paid for it back then), but I'm really happy I got it. It has never failed me for any of the needs I have when it comes to burning.

    DO NOT buy from eagletronics!

That's where I got mine and after I installed the 6.3.1.15 update today it tells me I'm using an unlicensed version. I've since read up on eagletronics (like I should have to begin with) and there are numerous complaints about them selling pirated software. Looks like that's what I got.

I just e-mailed eagletronics about it and will get in touch with Ahead as well. If I got screwed I guess I'm going to Miami with some hollowpoints :)

No worries :) It wasn't aimed at you. I just wanted to warn others who might be thinking of buying from them.

Hey... I also bought Nero from Eagletronics.com so I thought I might throw in my 2 cents...

    I bought

    Norton Systemworks 2003: Installed fine
Intuit Quick Books Basic 2004 : Installed fine and also registered as well..
and Nero 6 Ultra edition... that installed fine as well and also updated just fine..

Mabyee you have a bad serial number etc??

    Eagletronics seems legit to me...

I wouldn't recommend buying from Eagletronics especially if you own any of these versions. You can purchase from Nero's (Aheads web site) for $49.99. I used the serial from a copy of Nero Express OEM and I had no problems. If you've bought as many burners as I have then you probabl have one of these.

    # Nero 4
    # Nero 5.0
    # Nero 5.5 OEM
    # Nero 5.5 Retail
    # Nero 6 OEM

To get it, go to Aheads web site and select upgrade (not update), give them your old seial number, and they will email you a legitimate number for Nero Ultra suite. Download the software, make a text file with your new serial number and then burn them to a disc.

I bought NERO 6 Ultra from eagletronics as well and had no problems at first. I updated the program to the nero63110 without any problems but last week I tried to update again to nero63115 and found Ahead has blacklisted my S/N. I e-mailed Ahead and they have been very politely uncooperative. Ahead has promised a new S/N once I supplied a receipt but has not come through. They have ignored all of my correspondences since I supplied the receipt, until today. Today I emailed Ahead I was contacting the US FTC and they asked me to email their legal guy, cmelloh@nero.com . I have not.
Instead I contacted eagletronics and they have promised to mail a replacement copy of the software with a valid S/N or exchange it if I liked.. I must admit I have always found eagletronics to be very customer oriented and in the past they have always made good on resolving problems. I would say eagletronics has always gone over the top to make things right while my experiences with Ahead have been very difficult and trying. I am intent on seeking a remedy with the S/N problem through a US Regulatory Agency (as soon as I identify the responsible agency) as I feel Ahead trampled my rights as a consumer. I purchased a license to use NERO in good faith and provided the documentation to Ahead per their request. Ahead has not dealt with me in good faith to resolve this. Ignoring a customer is not a good business practice and in this matter they may have overstepped their authority when they revoked my license by blacklisting my S/N, and then refusing to re-instate the S/N after I met their stated re-instatement criteria. To quote the email from Sandro Wolfinger of Ahead, " Your serial number has been blacklisted. Where did you buy this serial number? Came it with your burner? Please send us a copy of your invoice for Nero per email or per Fax: +49 7248 911 888.
We will then send you a serial number immediately." They did not then send me a serial number as they stated and in fact have ignored my requests. At least eagletronics has not ignored my e-mails - Nor have they lied to me. Sorry for the long post but think this needs to get out there.

    Hmm!

Nephilium had a problem with Eagletronics back in May I believe. I've never asked him if he resolved the problem but he is among a few oterhs that have also reported Nero rejecting their seial numbers. Some think that they are peddling illegal serial numbers, I don't know, but I do know this, there's an easier way to get a good deal buying Nero 6.X.

If you have an older leagal version of Nero say 5X whether retail or OEM, then you can get the upgrade discount for $49.99. I paid only about $3 to $5 more than Eagletronics was selling it for.

    These are acceptable upgrade versions:

    # Nero 4
    # Nero 5.0
    # Nero 5.5 OEM
    # Nero 5.5 Retail
    # Nero 6 OEM

I certainly didn't mean to imply that eagletronics is at fault for the serial number mishap. As far as serial number problems go Ahead sold bad serial numbers from there own web store and failed to believe it was their problem. Their only notification to their customers was through the Support FAQs posted on their website. Ahead black listed my serial number a month after I bought the product and after my first update. Ahead has still to set up a registration process to avoid these problems. I have bought several pieces of software from eagletronics and have had no problems. On this one occasion I found ealgetronics to be more responsive and forthright in resolving the problem than Ahead was. Ahead was deceitful and secretive in their handling of my problem. As I stated eagletronics went over the top to make things right while Ahead practiced lies and deceit. I'm going with the guy who is up front and does the right thing. In my experience that's not Ahead.

I've never purchased from Eagletronics before but I've been in contact with somoone who has and they were disatisfied. The selling price for Nero Ultra at Eagletronics is $49.95, the same as the upgrade price for Nero on Aheads web site,. All you need is the version I previously posted.

I just thought I would share my eagletronic and Ahead I just thought I would share my eagletronic and Ahead experiences with the forum members. Having directly dealt with both parties I would find it difficult to recommend either. There appears to be problems with the software at eagletronics, and equally as bad, organizational and customer service problems at Ahead. Members may want to look elsewhere for NERO - maybe a reputable value added retailer that could strongly represent their interest in the event of problems - afterdawn.com may be a good choice. Maybe price should not be the sole consideration. I would have paid a little more to avoid these experiences and in the future will.

Hmm. I understand your point but how can you improve upon a great upgrade deal through Ahead. I had no problems buying because all you're buying is a serial number. If you are even a little like me and you've bought multiple CD burners or DVD burners over the last couple of years then you are likely to have an OEM copy of an older version of Nero someplace and you can upgrade.

If it turns out that Eagletronics serials are bogus then you are screwed but no matter what kind of problems you're having with Nero, their serials will never be bogus.

Don't know'bout Eaglelectronics but Nero 6 Ultra is worth getting for sure. It does virtually everything from a smart interface, which incidentally is customisable. I particularly like the DVD player recently updated which, in my humble opinion, is just as good a player as you will pay $80 dollars for on it's own. As usual Nero works flawlessly on most PC's but just refuses to work at all on others. The mystery continues.......
