I downloaded a program from the Internet to convert IFO's to MPEG's but my computer now keeps crashing (even when I'm not using the program). I since have unistalled the program, but still am having the same problem. I'd really appreciate if anyone could give me some advice on how to restore my computer's functioning and also on how I might safely convert the files. Thanks in advance, Seth
Well Firstly you can not convert an IFO file it"s self to Mpeg because a IFO file is not a Video file but a Information file that tells your DVD player were the VOB files are and were the Chapters and menu"s are ect but the File it"s self contains no Video or audio Data...Are use sure you are not talking about maybe a ISO file?? Well all I can suggest to fix your PC is to try useing the Windows "System Restore" to restore your PC to a time before you had this problem... If that doesn"t work you can try doing a Windows Repair which re-installs all the Operating system files but if the Files causeing the problems aren"t Operateing system files then it probably will not work in which case you might try a Full System reformat and start from Scratch with your PC..... Good Luck PS: also make sure that the program you think is causeing the Problem is fully deleted from your System meaning it hasn"t left any files in your "Program files" or your "Windows" directory ECT and make sure all referances to it are Deleted from the Registry useing a registry cleaner.....
