No firmware updates available for two years...this could be trouble. DMA needs to be on...turning on could fix your problem. See here. No multitasking..especially with as little RAM as you have. Reboot and shut down any unecessary apps before burning. Why are you wasting a DL disc? The files you are trying to burn will easily fit onto a SL disc.
DVD has never worked in dma mode. Locks up computer whenever a dvd is put in. Has worked fine in pio mode for the past 5 months. Posted this problem a while ago on AD and never got a response. didn't relize this wa a dl disc.
Hi, I'm new to this place as well, and I'm having the same problem. I get this Illegal Disc, error along with Could not perform start of Disc-at-once. I've updated my firmware, and my DMA is on. I am not sure what else to do. I've even tried with no Multisession, and get the same results. I am using Ritek SL DVD-R's 16x. (I'm able to burn with 8x DVD-R's before w/o any problems) Any help will be greatfull.
