I can't burn and DVDs because I get a problem with Nero saying it can't burn an Illegal disc. I did search, and the threads I found were older than 60 days so I couldn't add a reply to them. The general advice was to update Firmware, I couldn't find an update for my device. I am using TDK DVD-R discs. Here is the error log.

those TDKs are CMC MAGs..... poor media! use better disks like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim!

Your drive has no firmware update ..... you have the most current firmware for your drive: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1751
the bad news is that your drive is over 3-4 yrs old now! and there is a possibility that some of the new media out there is non compatible with your drive! Noticed that you burned at 8x..... if you TDK is 16x media..... try getting media that is 8x and burn at 4x!~ see if that makes a difference! good luck. And welcome to AfterDawn!

    Correction:
    your drive: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters...&hddvdrom=&orderby=Name&hits=50&Search=Search
your drive is older than I thought!! after doing a search I found that your drive is a 4x burner! too bad..... it won't burn ANY of the new media out there because your manufacturer never did a firmware upgrade for your drive so it won't recognize any media that is out there now!!! If you can find 4x media and burn at 2.4x then you can burn..... otherwise upgrade to a new burner that will burn all the media out there now! The good news is: DVD burners are cheap now! you can find many burners for $50.00 or less!!

lol well i guess it is getting on a bit now. Got it when dvd burners first came out over here. Well I guess I can use this as a reason to upgrade. I just ran out of my old Sony discs and picked these ones up because I didn't expect this. Thanks for the reply!
