I am getting an "illegal disc" about 1% into burning. This is a new problem-I have used the same media and software before without problems. I use DVD Shrink to get the files and Nero to burn the disc. I went through all the threads with this problem and tried all the fixes. I have updated the firmware, Nero software, lowered the burning speed to the lowest possible and unloaded all programs to free up RAM. I even limited the file size to 4.3 gig. What am I doing wrong? Here is my log file. Thanks! burn to image file first and use daemon tools to see if the image is viable that way at least you will know it is the writer at fault did you leave the discs where the sun could get them? mostly i've found it's the discs at fault or someones played with the settings if the image works then try uninstalling your software (nero) and reinstalling it so as to get back to the default
Hi, If you are using an HP Presario there is a ? known ? bug, and you have to update the firmware of the DVD Recorder ... ( Should be version 'f' instead of 'g' ). Regards, Geoffrey.
Thanks for your help...I ended up formating my hard drive and completely starting fresh. It worked and I imaged it with Ghost in case something happens again! Thanks again
