i saw other threads about this and you have to download firmware. Well when i tried i couldnt find my own optical drive's company. i cant find the company because my computer is gateway. can anyone help me?
You can check Gateway's site for any updates for your pc - should be listed there. Here's 2 ways to find the make & model of the drive. Double click on my computer. Now right click on the dvd drive. Go to properties>hardware tab. The make & model will be listed there. Or go to Tools (ToolKit in Nero 6)>InfoTool in Nero. In the drop down the drives make and model will be listed there. In the drive tab the current firmware version will also be listed.
