I have the model DVDR05MU. I use imation DVD+RW disc. Everytime I try to record something from my vhs tapes, it stops after 20 mins and the
panel says "bypass". What the heck is this, and how do I record for more than 20 mins. I would like to record at least 2-3 hrs on a blank disc. I email ilo but no ans yet. Everything is hooked up fine, I get my channels on the set. But this bypass thing keeps coming up.
Anybody ever had this problem? and how do I correct this so I can burn my tapes (vhs).

    Pls advise & Thanks
    A

Have you tried any better media?? That Imation stuff is pretty lowly regarded, and from personal experience (before I knew the good brands to look for, thanks to this forum) I bought one spindle of imation, so far, I have thrown one away to every one that actualy recorded. That is a very high 'bad disk' percentage in my book. Go for some Sony's branded Made in Japan, or the Verbatim brand. Spend some time reading the "Media" forum here>excellent pointers about the good brands.
