I just purchased a new ILO DVD Recorder - DVDR05 model. Can anyone direct me to a site with the latest firmare for this recorder? Thanks in advance! - RR
The 05 model is made by Cyberhome. They are out of business in the US and there is no service available. A correct firmware for them might be avail but can present problems. Ilo is a Wal-Mart brand and has not sold the 05 for quite a while but you say its New. If the unit [as a Wal-Mart brand] is in or out of warranty, I feel could be returned if you wanted to do so They made 3 models the ZU [a bummer], the MU and MU1. The identification is on a small white tag. I had all 3 and presently have a MU1.that works but is hardly used Is the unit giving problems? Why do you feel that firmware is needed? It has been my experience that firmware [unless messed with] is not the cause of problems. When working correctly they will play just about anything including a bagel if you could get it in.
Well I my parents were using the 04 model and had to use firmware in order to copy protected dvds. Is this not the case with the 05? I haven't received it yet, as I'm awaiting it through the mail. Does the 05 model copy and playback protected dvds?
No --- there is no hack for the 05. Firmware will not help The 04 was a Liteon. It and a number of older Liteon are no longer made Your post says you are are awiting the 05. I would doubt that it is a new unused unit. --- Who is the seller? Do you still have the 04? Is it a R04 or a RHD04 with hard drive? What is its problem? You may have some options. Your post indicates DVDs. Are VHS tapes involved.
