Ilo dvd recorder wont record or play

So we have had the recorder for about eight months and all of the sudden it wont record. So we figured it had just gone out or something, but then we tried watching a dvd but it wont even play purchased or recorded dvd's now. You put the dvd in the recorder and it says LOAD then goes to NO DISC. Anyone else having this problem?

 

u have too take it apart and clean the eye with q-tip and rubbing alcohol
