How can I tell if my Ilo DVDR 04 is a 4x or 8x model? I have read somewhere that a later manufacture date was an 8x model? I can find the serial number on the back and a manufacture date of July 2004, but I must be overlooking something to tell me if it is 4x or 8x.

Real newbie here and needing help so I can download the firmware upgrade.

... If your recorder has no harddrive (and the 04 doesn't), it records in 'real time' which is 1x ...

Go to site http://www.ss3f.com/ilo. Click on the picture of your unit. They will tell you how to find the model # and determine the correct firmware. They have both the regular and hacked versions.

    Correct the link won't work

The reason. It should be http://www.ss3f.com/ilo/ NO dot after ilo.
Sorry!! I'm not a good typest. All the sites are good The one site is the same. The model # is in the setup function but go to these sites and others the info will help. The one for techolio is very good. Check Guitarman posts there.
