This was my back up recorder so I'm not worried about fixing it. I just thought it was weird that I put in a brand name disc and then after that the disc had to be open manually. It would just keep saying open and close on the screen even when it is close. And even when I tried to put a disc in it would go in all the way if I use my hand to push it back but it would still say open and close on the screen. The only thing is I had some discs not finalized. Maybe I can find someone with the same model to finalize some discs and work something out. Or any ideas to fix it. Thanks. I've had this recorder since January. On my other recorder I am not going to leave many discs unfinalized for long.

Been reading on the boards. Maybe a firmware update will make it back to normal.

Had the recorder unplugged all day and still says open and closed. I guess that means it's locked up. Will looking inside the unit help me figure out anything? Thanks.

Most warranty's have to be purchase and I got it from walmart.com Can ilo take it back without having bought the warranty? I know from now on I will buy the warranties. This is the 2nd recorder I had break down in two years. The one before that was a cyberhome and never again. The emerson204 with a vcr in it is the best one yet.

I emailed Ilo tech support. One good thing about cyberhome is that with the receipt and if I still had the box and everything to it they sent me one within 2 weeks. The bad thing is I barely used the replacement cyberhome and after 5 months it wouldn't format. I know I still have the Ilo box if the company will do a deal like that. This is why it's good to have two recorders lol

I have a couple of LiteOn recorders and they come with a one year warranty. I use them so much that I figure that if they fail, I'll return them if it's within a year .. any longer, I'll replace them.

The 04 ilo is a LiteOn made machine, so I figure that it has a one year warranty, alxo
