This is kind of a stupid question and I would like to extend my gratitude to anyone willing to help.

I know it would be technically illegal, but I have been hearing different things and I am really curious to know:

If I used DVD decrypter on a PS2 game or some kind of DVD from Blockbuster, do they have any way of finding out about it?

Most people say no, but I have heard yes. So now I want to find out for myself

Pirating is against forum rules and you should refrain from asking such questions!

To be absolutely safe, you need a chip disabler along with a roll of aluminum foil....

    Thanks for the feed back.

I promise I'm not going to go out and try to copy Block Buster DVDs.
    I am a law-abiding citizen.

I only asked because I had been reading articles about pirating and it made me wonder how it was possible for Block Buster or any other rental group to find out if a DVD were copied.

Maybe they could, but then would probably require some CIA/NSA technology, or something more in the SciFi domain:~)!

How about a very smart dog hot to trot (studding services available) instead of an armadillo ?

YES. we've passed on your details to Blockbuster, i'd be expecting a knock on the door if i were you; while you're waiting to be carted off for your crimes, read the Forum Rules in my signature.
