The disk wont play on your pc or on the stand alone dvd player?
What brand and format media are you using?
What is the make and model of your stand alone dvd player?

You have not given enough info on what files you actually ripped with SmartRipper (was it all files or movie-only , default being just the movie files which you would then need to click on title set IFO file)?

Nero should have given you a warning that 'DVD Navigation File Error' ... did you click ignore & carry on regardless ??
    [Also what version of Nero]

    I'll await answers :)

yep, if you rip just the vob then you need a few files. like video_ts.bup, video_ts.ifo, vts_01_0.bup, vts_01_0.ifo. These files and the .vob files must be in the video_ts directory of the disc. Use nero and drop the files in the video_ts folder it creates for the dvd you are going to burn. If you just rip the vobs you can create the other files with a program called ifoedit. Some movies are small enough that you can rip & burn the complete disc. In that case you wouldn't need to do any of this.

    hope this helps,

I am pretty new to burning but I've burned a few DVD's. However I have had a few playback problem. Including disc skipping or freezing towards end of movie. And/or "blocky" or "hazy" images fading in and out. I was wondering if this could be the quality of my DVDR disc. Or possibly my DVD player (is generic). I know the skipping and freezing is probably the disc. Any ideas or suggestions?

    hi mgb
your problems sounds like classic signs of cheap media
ritek go4 or verbatim is the media of choice here.
