So, I have ben burning CDs for a while...I know for a fact to stay from the no-brand, "unprintable media". I know that most ppl say that Taiyo Yuden is probably the best quality CD.

I've heard mixed comments regarding the Ritek (TDK, no-name, etc) and can tell there's certainly some bad experiences with CMC (Imation) media.

Now, I have used the no-name, unprintable (read pealable) Riteks and can certainly say to stay away from those.

I have a newly purchased 100-pack of Fuji (Taiyo Yuden) 80-minute CDs.

    I also have a 50-pack of Imation 80-minute 16x (CMC) CD-Rs.

Now, my question is, what would ppl here use the Imation 16x's for. I don't think I'm gonna put my life's work on any of them, but I also burn quite a few VCDs, SVCDs, Audio CDS, etc. I also know that some formats (like Audio CDs) use a slightly more relaxed method for error correction.

I think it's worth noting that I have 2 CD-RW burners. One being a Mitsumi 4x4x24, the other is a Philips 8x4x24. The Mitsumi has no problem reading the TOC of one of the Ritek VCDs, but the Philips will not even read the TOC. It's worth noting that not even the Mitsumi will read the whole CD (it's dead), but what would you suggest writing on the Imations. The Imations work in my DVD/VCD/SVCD player, but I'm kind of wondering how long I can say that...

Here's the CDR ID output for one of them.
