I have tried using both imgburn and dvd decrypter to back up Beautiful Somewhere but I get a message saying incompatible format. But when I tried a different movie it was fine. So I was just wondering what the problem could be. I also tried lowering the speed to 4x but the same thing happened. So if anybody could help, I'd really appreciate it.

I have included the log from Img Burn below.

You are using good media but There does not seem to be any firmware updates for your writer.
Notice that it does not show 16x for the Speeds line.
You might try some slower media or a new burner.

what do you mean by slower media? Do you mean that I should try using different brand of disk to burn or did you mean something else?

Since there are no updates, new media (16x) will not be supported on your writer.
8x or 4x will work better and be cheaper.

I have an older OEM burner and could burn faster, but why?
It takes 15 min to burn a DVD-5 at 4x.
If I burn at 8x it is 7 min and I save 7 min.
After waiting an hour to encode the DVD, why save 7 mins.
Also the chances of burning a poor quality (skipping freezing) backup are greater at 8x.

The best media is Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim.
    I use Ritek R03 myself.

Do not get me wrong. Verbatrim's are great.
I just think the 16x is the problem.

That would lead me to believe your discs are fine. Try another ripper.

Often when i have had burn errors 99% time it has been the discs, Philips stand out for me at least as the worst culprits. Never had a prob with verbatim before though *Sorry*

Try diff discs adn if no joy the ripper, I suppose.

Ok, well i went out and bought some Fujifilm disc and the movie, I had trouble with, burned onto this disc. There was no problem.

Other movies burn just fine with the Verbatrim disc but some movies just don't like the disc at all. Maybe I should just stick to fujifilm.
