i'm new here, and i know this problem has been posted a bunch of times, but i'm a computer noob, so i couldn't understand half the responses out there ok so i'm trying to burn a wii iso onto a dvd with ImgBurn the iso itself is in the form of a zip file, but i read in another forum that it's ok to just burn that no matter what i do, that little message is always on the bottom left corner, and so i can't burn the game my log: I 22:44:47 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started! I 22:44:47 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 22:44:47 Total Physical Memory: 1,570,908 KB - Available: 307,504 KB I 22:44:47 Initialising SPTI... I 22:44:47 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 22:44:47 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD+RW! i use TDK DVD-R can someone please explain to me (in VERY SIMPLE terms) how to fix this? i've looked all over the forums and guides, and couldn't find a solution that either worked or i was able to understand
You should be able to burn the file (you say it is Zipped - it has to be unZipped and the file name should be something.iso) Run ImgBurn, select 'Write Image Files to Disc' then click 'Tools' > 'Drive' > 'Capabilities' and verify that writing DVD-R is allowed. If it is, you can then check to see if your firmware is up to date.
thanks, i noticed that DVD-R is NOT checked, but the thing is, i'm not able to check or uncheck any of the boxes in "capabilities" any ideas why?
If it's not checked, then the drive does not have the capability to burn that type of media. Do you know if the burner is supposed to burn DVD-R (have you burned them in the past?) In the meantime you have to try the type of disks that are checked (perhaps DVD+R).
i have never burned them in the past before; in fact, i hardly ever used my burner, that's why i assumed nothing would be wrong, because i hardly ever touch it thanks a lot for your help attar; i'm going to go and buy some DVD+R disks soon to test out; any more advice in the meantime?
Post the name and model of your DVD burner, if the DVD-R box is unable to be checked, I wonder if you have an older burner which may not handle the newer 16X media? Strange to see just a +R for a burner.
sorry blivet, but could you explain to me how i search up all my info on my dvd burner? with all these names flying around when i try searching, i don't know what's what
Follow Attar's guide, look on the top of the device capabilities screen and you shall see you burner.
Device: [0:1:0]_NEC DVD+RW ND-2100AD 103D (E (ATA) Firmware Version: 103D Vendor Specific Info: 03093001 Serial Number 46I7S95S111 Buffer Size: 2048 KN
read this link, http://club.cdfreaks.com/f34/nec-dvd-rw-nd-2100ad-not-reading-dvd-r-disk-111788/ then this link http://www.cdfreaks.com/hardware/product/4444-NEC-ND-2100AD.html Your burner is good for the +R variety. but if you crossflash it to ND2510 it will burn + and - R variety disks according to CDFreaks.
alright, so it looks like i have 2 options left either go to the store and buy a stack of DVD+R dvd's or crossflash it to ND2510 like blivet said the only thing is, i have NO idea how to crossflash i dont even know what it means really i read the forums you gave me blivet, but i don't want to search up and download anything i'm not sure on so whats my best bet?
I tried too to burn with imgburn and powerISO and CDburner and it doesn't work. powerISO says there is no media on cd or something like that and CDburner says: Required: 4.38GB Available Exist: 0 Bytes And there is a disk inside the drive.. how could this be? And yesterday it worked perfectly with the same disk, what's the explanation to this?
