So every time I try run img burn i just get the error:

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000005). Click ok to terminate application"

I asked over at the imgburn forums and the guy (mod) says its my stupid computer and that either i have a virus or bad memory.

Now I'm no newb so i don't have a virus or bad memory. Does anyone else have any ideas what might be wrong or maybe suggest a program like imgburn that i can use? I was gonna try to back up SSBB but if I cant use imgburn I don't know what else to use since everyone I ask just tells me to use imgburn.

Did you try a HDD search for Imgburn and remove it that way?
How long ago did the problem first start?
Have you checked Device Manager for driver issues?
Have you tried a different burning application?
Have you cleaned your system. Browser cashe, defragment, etc?
Have you ran a registry cleaner?
Is Imgburn the only problem your having with your system?

i just installed img burn today and had the problem the first time i tried to use it.

I don't have any drive issues that i know about and all other burning applications i have (nero, 1 click dvd copy pro, etc...) all work fine.

I regularly run registry mechanic and have virus protection and the whole chebang so everything should be fine. I have never ran into this problem before with any other program which is why I was so confused and couldn't figure out the issue.
