Can anyone please list the files and folders of what should be in C:\ on a non-modded system? I think something in here is stopping me from reinstall nkpatcher but i'm not sure what to delete cause I have no idea what was before hand (I did make a backup but when I selected restore is supposedly restored it but also deleted the backup)
Oh right thanks, my softmod is preventing me fom reinstalling the softmod (yeah, itself lol) and I need to delete something. Problem is, dunno what. Could you please list files/folders (nonmodded system)
if ur trying to softmod and the one youre trying to install has the "restore" option, try using that. it might "restore" it to a state that would allow a softmod. alternatavely you could simply try a diferent softmod, as there are so many out there.
I did click restore. And I waited and then at one point it jsut said ERROR and I've posted this somewhere else but it was like LAST ACTION: Rename: . yes that full stop after there is deliberatley there, which made the restore half abort so when I rebooted I got error 21 but the box now works like a retail but theres a file left somewhere that it refuses to overwrite so half way thr a new softmod install it just stops yeah I found in options theres DON'T ABORT ON FAIL or something but it didn't make a difference. Man this is annoying. I just got hold of an MS DASH but its old, so Halo 2 will update it and then i'll see if thingy installs. So anyone any idea where/which file I should need be deleting? I'm pretty sure its in C somewhere
ok so you had ur xbox softmodded and then you took it off?? if so you have to delete the old back up it is in ur e:/ because the softmod has to create a new one or it cant install right just find the folder that says back up then reinstall the softmod and you will be set let me know how this goes
I fixed it last night The problem was in C:\/ Turns out half way thru the uninstall when it aborted it left like 2 files that it refused to overwrite, and they were the nkpatcher files. Well, I just copied on a new ms dash and then the softmod installed fine, before updating the dash via a Live! game. Thanks for your help, Nick.
