In need of a TV card (looking for advice/suggestions)

I need to get a tv card for a couple of reasons, but no clue what to look for and which will suite my needs. Some background info to help...

I live in the United States. I have an Intel Pentium 4, CPU 3.00 GHz, half a gig of ram, running W2K. I need it for viewing and recording TV, as well as for digitizing old tapes, so I can later burn to DVD. These are the main uses I will need it for. Preferably, I'd like something that is not too restrictive on 3rd party software, but if the supplied software is sufficient it wont matter too much. As for budget, I'm willing to spend anywhere from 50-100, but will go a little higher if the product is worth the value. I need something to get the job done, nothing too fancy.

As for input types, I'd like for it to be able to handle both analog and digital signals. I currently do not have satellite or cable TV, but I might be getting cable TV in the future. It should also be able to handle connections for a VCR, as I plan to convert tapes to DVD.

I really don't know what to get, so I need someone to guide me into the right direction. I've tried reading reviews for TV cards, but managed to only find reviews from 2004 and 2005 and many of the reviews do not compare and contrast products, simply rate them individually. Also from research, I've seen ATI and Hauppauge products mentioned most often when it comes to TV Cards. Other then that, I really am clueless to what I need. All help is appreciated.

I have a haupppauge 150 works great but only downside is you cannot capture in .avi using virtual dub. And supplied software isnt the best so youll probably have to use 3rd party software like xp media center (for tv) and something like windvd creator (for vhs tapes).

    I use the ATI All-in-Wonder 9600 pro.

Had it about a year, and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

It will record in .avi, mpeg-2, mpeg-1, and ATI's .vcr formats. The .vcr is great quality, however you will not be able to edit this format...

It will do Analog straight from the cable line, and it will do digital, however digital signal you will need to run through a cable box first.

You can schedule favorites, daily/weekly/monthly programing, as well as pausing live TV (JUST LIKE A TIVO!!).

It also comes with the cables needed to be able to record from a vcr, or a camcorder. I have converted many a wedding to DVD using this card.

I will say it again.... I LOVE IT!

I was leaning towards the Hauppauge 150 before, but now that it has been recommended twice here and once by someone else, I'm now more inclinded to purchasing it. Hopefully it meets my needs and everything runs smoothly.
