I was just browsing the net and this thread turned up on my search. I have two points to make concerning the responses made in this thread. After reading the thread, I decided to sign up for the site just to give my opinion. The post has been locked from new people, so I mad my own thread. I know this post will probably be deleted within minutes, and I could care less; I would like at least one person to read this, however. Firstly, How do you know that this individual did not buy the software to begin with? I have bought software before and misplaced or lost my serial number, why can't anyone else? I would also like to make another point. The people who responded to this had no good reason or support, so why respond. Many meople preach all these forum rules, but few actually follow them. Lastly, maybe this guy does not wan't to pay for his software. What can you do about it? Sure you can flame/insult him, but really its up to the software company and the law to discipline pirates. Nice site by the way...

    Hi dilligaf2,

Not sure which thread your talking about but a link would have been nice. Anyway if someone legally purchased a software program and lost the key then they could easily get a new key from the products manufacturer. If the guy didn't want to pay for the software in the first place then he/she shouldn't be offended if people are flamming them for commiting a crime. You see it is illegal to aquire a serial number or key for a software program, and this is a great site so if they started allowing that kind of behavior here this site wouldn't be around much longer. Why must everyone try to rationalize or make up some sort of acscuse about something they darn good and well is illegal? If you like a product just buy it if you can't afford it then save up until you can. The guy that doesn't want to pay for his software ends up shafting all of us who do purchase it legally it's because of people that think like you do that we have to pay so much for software now. Where did everyones morals go?

Well I hope you enjoy it here as long as you last, but with the thought process you have going on I don't believe you will last to long around here.

    Cheers

I don't see any reason to delete it, but I'm moving it to the Safety Valve ;) Honestly since you're talking about an ancient thread I doubt anyone else knows exactly what you're referring to.
Without knowing what thread you're referring to it's difficult to answer that accurately but let me make a couple of points of my own. If I lost my serial for Nero, or any other software, I'd go to the software company to get help, not to a discussion board with no affiliation to that company. That doesn't make everyone who asks for a serial here a thief, but I'd be willing to put up some money that says the figure is at least 99.9%.
Once again, I can't say for sure without seeing the thread in question, but yes it's true that sometimes people "pile on" a little bit too much. We also haven't always had the Report Offensive Post feature available, which has cut down on that greatly. We could still use a little work there, but nobody's perfect. I'd also add that in any community like this one a lot of people take it a little personally when the rules get violated. That's not a statement about how valid such things are, just a fact.
If they decide to bring their activities here it becomes our business. Yes, it's a public forum, but that doesn't mean we don't get to make our own rules. If you post something against the rules you should expect to get called on it. If you didn't bother to read the rules before you agreed to them that's not anyone else's fault.
    Thank you ;)

    DILLIGAF2,
As hursty said this is a great site. Better forums can not be found on the net. And you may have some good input one day. Your call on that. But either way DILLWGAF

i also said it could have been british.you see most americans confuse australians with british people.and we confuse irish with scottish too.but i did some research and found it to be a french word for "see you later".

and what does ozzie osbourne have to do with anything?
