To install xp from dos prompt. Switch to D: (I think that's the CD, isn't it?) and type "i386\winnt" without quotes. It will take a long time to copy files, but it should work.

About the dr-dos prompt :: I think that the person who created that xp cd failed to load the correct boot image - taken from the original cd - and the burning program wrote its default boot image which contains caldera dos. Ahh the joys of dubious software ;)

When you have everything running google for how to make a real bootable xp cd, or follow this guide http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP/winxp-sp2-bootcd.html

God I miss DOS. I love having an Operating System that doesn't run ontop of DOS, but the games were sooooo cool, and even with emulators, they can still be kinda tricky.
