I looked for some answers onw hot to install it properly but i didnt find any. I had Final Fantasy 7 for my computer but my lil brother spilt some leomnade on one of the discs and ruined it :(.

Now, i recently downloaded the game off of the interent and i am having trouble installing it. I keep getting please isnert disc1, 2, or 3. I have tried finding a cracked .exe but i have come up empty handed. I have also tried to change the label on my cd/dvd drive but the copmuter would not let me.

After these failures, i approached it at a different angle. I took the entire FF7 folder and made it into a single .iso file. From there i used my nero imagedrive and mounted the iso of the FF7 folder on it. This still does not work.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated because i still have yet to beat one of the best games of all time =]

Welcome to aD and a rule here is you cant ask for cracks, keygens, serials, etc.
let me guess your little bro didnt spill lemonade on your discs, your just saying you downloaded it but you own an original when you dont, good one dude. let me see, you downloaded it ??? lol
if you have windows xp, ff7 runs but once it finishes the first game screen it freezes up. its actually ade for 95 so its pretty old.

I'm using windows 2000 and i have troubles installing the game,

it comes up with a message:

an error occured during the move data process : -623

i successfully installed this once before, but the game didn't work and when i selected 'new game' it would just freeze up and nothing would happen, i thought it may be a cd problem (well my copy of the game is a few years old) so i got a new one and when i tried reinstalling the game it'd still come up with the message about 2% into the installation

    much help appreciated

cheevs: have you tried inserting all the cd games when you open the 'ff7.exe' file? i mean you'd get the message if you inserted the installation disc (disc 1) when you tried playing it....

sorry my bad didn't read your entire question: so when installing, try the standard installation, not the maximum that way you only need the installation disc to install, otherwise try putting disc 2 into the cd drive (remember disc 1 = installation disc, disc 2 = disc 1, disc 3 = disc 2 and so on)

which optional codec (is it the yamaha s...thingy?) and install it first or after?

and when i try to install the yamaha thingy it'd say that it requires windows 95 or later...*sarcasm* hmmm i wonder if windows 2000 came before windows 95

anyway, no i tried and it'd still won't work

well since i'm so stupid, i'd thought i'd try and change the installation directory, which did help and i am able to successfully install the game...well now it's 20% and i'm going to cancel and do the maximum installation and see if the game will still freeze (and check if the problem is on the other discs)

    *later*

well i managed to install the game, but, when ever i try to start up the game, it comes up with please insert disc 1, 2,3 et cetc, but you see the problem is that i do have disc 1 in my cd drive?!

    anyone care to help?

(the ff7 theme is so nostalgic, i love it!)

I know what your going through, but what i did was use Nero to make images of all the discs on my HDD and then ran them through daemon tools with options on and it installs and works fine for me now!

yep thanks guys, i got it now.

see basicly you can only use the drive on which you installed it on, and i didn't bother with that so that's why i had the problems,

so all you have to do is insert the disc into the drive you installed it to.

it's weird you think that when they re-released it that they fix it for XP.
