installing WINXP & 300GB shows up as 137GB

everytime i clean install my OS and my 300 HD shows up as a 137 HD
installs SP2 and still shows as a 137

what i have done to get around that : installed everything on to a 13 GB HD and installed 300 GB as a slave then used the same "maxtor HD install disk and ghosted OS from the 13 to 300

    Is there a better way?

    Absolutely a better way...

Google "slipstreaming XP SP2" and create a XP SP2 installation CD. Even after upgrading to SP2 from an original XP disk, Windows will not see more than 137GB of partitioned space.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS version for your motherboard. Update the BIOS first.
