Thanks for stopping in! Here are my problems... I formatted my hdd on my xbox without copying my eeprom.bin file so I got a $150.00 paperweight. I have 2 ways I can go with this. One is I have another xbox that has a damaged hdd. I could change the parts out untill I get a working one, but I'm not sure if xbox parts are interchangeable regardless of verion #. The other way I can go is I bought a copy of easy recovery professional. For those not familiar with this program it extracts information from a formatted hdd. I did a raw data extraction attempting to extract the eeprom.bin file. I ran into a problem. The .BIN file extension is not in the default search list. "Well why didn't you add it" you ask? Well the program wants the .BIN file extension signature in Hexadecimal format. I've searched the internet for 3 days looking for this information and the closest I've gotten was a converter. I can't convert a file I do not have yet (as it is still on the formatted hdd) so that's not a big help. I refuse to give up and I think I'm exploring things not yet touched on in this forum. It's really hard to find anything to help so I figured I'd give this a shot. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading!
Just another thought, would it be easier for me to just buy a modchip? I read somewhere that modchips bypass the whole eeprom problem so could I just install a modchip on my xbox with out anything on the hdd and install a dashboard? If not what files would I need? I have xboxhdm, slayers auto installer, configmagic, eepmod, hddunlock, and unlockx. My hdd is unlocked using a tut. I found here http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Unlocking Seagate Xbox Hard Drive.htm As I said earlier any help will be greatly appreciated.
