I have a yamakawa dvr-y08 that recently started giving me trouble. It has worked great over the two years I have had it, but now it is having trouble finalizing dvds. Upon 100% completion I get the error message "internal target failure" or "unable to recover TOC". I have tried 3 different versions of nero, tried Img burn, put the drive in a friends machine, flashed the drive with pioneer dvr-107d firmware, and two different types of media (both have burnt flawlessly in the past). I write everything at 2.4x-4x, but still no luck. I have read that the problem is most likely from bad media or a dirty lens so i believe Ive ruled out the media and I'm going to pick up a lens cleaning kit today. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Update: Picked up a lens cleaning dvd and ran it through twice; First burn was successful so hopefully that is the end of my problems.
