I am working on windows 96SE, 192MB Intel Celeron. MEMorexDVD +R/+RW CD R/RW, Power DVD & Sonic MY DVD. Everytime I try to copy the dvdxc go through the complete process freezes and disable IE Internet Explorer 5.5. Then I can't get into my computer until it is serviced or until I pay Microsoft Internet Explorer Tech's $35 per incident or Best Buy $55. I've done this several times in the attempt to copy a DVD. The DVD I'm using is Memorex +R. At first it said it did not recognize the DVD. Then it went through the process but my program froze. When I tried to reboot my computer the I could not get pass the start up screen because IE had performed an illegal action and was disabled. What did I do wrong, is this a common problem or am I the first with the IE problem. What am I doing wrong? Also, my DVD players could not read the DVD that was supposedly been copied. But that's not the issue I'll just have to find one that accepts +R. Also, can I copy on another type of readable DVD? I wouldn't know where to find one that plays/reads +'s. Mine read(minus (-) R).
Is the 192mb your on board memory? You should not be using your PC for any other purpose while you are using DVDXCopy, especially IE since it will use nearly all of your system resources and RAM. You should really have updated your OS by now also especially if you want to copy DVD's - I would suggest getting XP full version. Also you are not using the latest version of IE which is version 6. Alternatively try changing over to Netscape since it's ten times better than IE anyway. Most DVD players now play both - & +R.
Well I think it is. I use Netscape 7 and I don't get any pop-up ads whatever (they are automatically blocked). Also I have a Netscape email account intergated into it and after using it for nearly a year I have never had any spam mail whatever plus 5mb of space. It has a better interface than IE which is customisable and is as fast as IE for surfing. Best thing of all it's all totally free.
