I can't get onto any site which is a pain because I have to browse IE every so often to keep my internet connection on but I usually use firefox. I have McAfee firewall and virus protection as well everything is up to date. Any help would be very much appreciated.

:edit: now I can't get onto msn messenger either...

I don't believe your uninstallation of messenger has anything to do with it. You may have a browser hijacker on your system. Use a spyware cleaner like Ad-Aware or Spybot...there are free version for both, just Google them. Download another program to run called CCleaner. Use it to clean up your system and fix errors within your registry (real simple) and then restart your system. You may also want to either reinstall explorer and/or make sure you have the most recent updates for it as well.

I tried them all and it's still not working...could it have something to do with my proxy settings? Sometimes I get an error in windows media player about my proxy settings when I try and watch a video or something online.
