Right ... My mate is trying to share the Internet from the computer downstairs to the computer in his bedroom .. He has a USB modem and is tryin to connect direct using an Ethernet cable. When the Internet is connected on the computer downstairs and the Ethernet cable is plugged in, the computer upstairs recognises there is a connection and tells you the speed of the connection but cannot connect to the Internet ??? The ISP is wanadoo, it's broadband but one of those were you have to click connect all the time to use it. Any help would be great ... Thanks In Advance
if the modem has both usb & net cable connectors, you can only connect 1 type of cable at a time. get a router to connect 2 or more computers to the net.
i think when you have the ethernet in you do not need to click on connect, do this open up our IE browser, assuming you have a PC, then go to options under tools, and TICK or SELECT the box that says never dial a connection. then you dont need to press connect, when you have the ethernet plugged in just browse.
cheers i will give that a go. And to the MOD, i am using a router at my house and i told him he will have to get one if this dont work .... cheers for the help once again guys
