    Can someone help me figure out how to get through these errors. I have NERO and have burning without problems and now all kinds of errors are coming up. These are the most recent two errors

    "Invalid Field in Command"

    and

    "Invalid Track Info"

    THANKS

    Can you post a Nero burn log?

    I am having the same problem. I have been using Nero for the longest time and now all of the sudden I am getting the error message invalid field in command. The only things I did recently were d/l xp updates and java updates. I figured that might be the problem so I went to an earlier restore point but I am having the same problem. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on?

    you got this
    and Nero says this

    13. I get a 'SCSI target error' when using Nero/Nero Express. How do I resolve this problem?

    This error be caused by the following:

    * Normally caused by CD-R or CD-RW media the recorder is unable to work with. Or the media could be defective, dirty or just not compatible with the recorder.
    * Cables are known to cause this: loose cables, damaged cables, loose power connectors, etc.
    * Defective recorders are known to cause this. Test with another demo software to rule out software as the cause. If two software programs have the same symptom, your recorder may need service.
    * If the drive is being polled by another software's driver, it could hang the bus. Uninstall any other CD recording software you may have had on your system, as well as Nero. Then use Registry cleaner software to clean you registry. At last try a fresh install of our latest Nero release.

    Thank you for the help. I will try another shareware program and if that doesn't work I will just go and buy another burner.

    WHOA! Don't go buying a new burner just yet! Get some different discs. Better ones. If you buy in a store I hear Verbatim discs are good, if you buy online go with Taiyo Yuden.

    Check out a firmware update if there is one. Go to the manufacturers website and get one there. Just make sure you get the right one for your model burner.

    Your DMA is off on all your drives, you should turn it on for your burner. Go into device manager and uninstall your burner (right-click My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager). Then reboot your computer and it should install it right away and you should be in DMA mode.
    If the DMA thing doesn't work, try changing media. Avoid Memorex, I suggest Verbatum with Super AZO Dye (should say it on the box).

    I tried this before but it didn't work. I uninstalled my burner from the Device Managger - rebooted the PC, then installed the new firmware and nothing happends. It was not the first time when I install the firmware. Is it possible if this is the reasone the burner not to work? Because I read somewhere how to turm on my DMA mode true the Device Menager component's properties but I have no such a properties in my Device Menager component.

    I never use Memorex. Usualy I use Verbatum or LG media.

    @MindFaZer -

    in addition to squizzle's notes -

    - that's a bit long in the tooth now, 6.6.0.14 is out now.. i would upgrade...

    - that firmware's bang up to date, so that's cool.

    - DMA is off on the dvd-rom drive, this affecting the other drives..

    - don't know enough about this error apart from the obvious 'CD type reading failed' - sounds like it has a problem with that media

    - don't know much about these

    - good grief! - dunno what's going on with that first line, those numbers are off the scale...hmmm, crap media methinks!

    - drive doesn't like that media

    - i think this is a symptom of the other problems

    @kiki1313 -

    - [bold]edit out your serial number, before it gets stolen[/bold]

    - strange, this is blank, there should be references to atapi here - fixing DMA should sort this out.

    - DMA needs to be on for those drives - fix like this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/DMA.html

    - good news, firmware for this is up to date

    - splat!

    - strange, this is blank, there should be references to atapi.sys here - fixing DMA should sort this out.

    @creaky

    Thank you for the detailed description about DMA. I'll try this later because I'm not at home but in the office where I work.

    As I remeber I was looking for this chanels (Primary and Secondary IDE Chanels) in my Device Manager and I had no such chanels :( But I'll try this again and will post the results.

    Thank you for the advice about the serial. I deleted it.

    You should also have an ASPI layer for Windows as well as an Ahead ASPI. Here's something explaining a bit about ASPI:

    [bold]<11>What is ASPI and do I need it?
    The term 'ASPI' is an acronym that stands for: Advanced SCSI Programming Interface. All the following terms are synonymous: ASPI layer, ASPI drivers, ASPI interface. The term 'SCSI' [scuzzy] is an acronym that stands for Small Computer Systems Interface. An ASPI layer consists of four files that 'lie between' various programs [software] and certain devices, such as CD/DVD-ROM drives and CD/DVD burners/writers [hardware]. Software programs such as CD digital audio extractors [commonly known as 'Rippers'] and CD-writing utilities such as CDRWin use/require ASPI drivers to 'communicate with' SCSI devices. Many people don't realize however, that the files contained in an ASPI layer are also used in systems that *don't* contain a SCSI adapter, or SCSI devices .. for things such as ripping CD audio and burning CD/DVDs.
    ASPI DOWNLOAD http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/su...duct/ASPI-4.70&filekey=aspi_471a2.exe&sess=no[/bold]

    Your memory useage should be around 50% or so. Try to shut down some background programs running, such as Antivirus stuff, and don't multitask while burning.
    It appears you are trying to burn a multisession disc. If you're burning a DVD movie, do not use multisession. If you chose to burn DVD-Video files, this should be disabled unless you enabled it yourself. If you are making an ISO disc, you will need to disable multisession manually. This is probably a big part of your problem.

    Then your simulation goes OK (says completed successfully), but your burn fails as soon as you start it. So you might have some poor quality media on your hands. What kind of media are you using??

    Also, I have no clue what firmware you are using, so here's a link for updating that just in case: http://www.samsung.com/au/support/p...u/module/ssi/right/rmenu_opticaldiskdrive.sec

    You're using Memorex huh?? That CMC MAG company makes Memorex and is complete crap. This is probably your problem now. I suggest Verbatum with Super AZO Dye (should say it right on the box) if you buy in stores or Taiyo Yuden if you buy online.

    But it does look like you cleared everything else up pretty good!!
