Yesterday I purchased a 32GB iPhone 5 from a well known electronic shop in Dubai & the sales rep said that they sell factory unlocked iPhones only! Today, i entered my IMEI no. on a website to check my sim lock status & to verify if it's officially a factory unlocked iPhone but what I came to know is my iPhone is under some Contract which expires in 2014! Now I'm really WORRIED whether it's unlocked or not. Please advice, help, suggest any web sites to check the proper sim status or anything would be appreciated!
I think your iPhone is not factory unlocked, it might be unlocked with a specific iOS version and you will lose your unlock when you have your iOS updated and you will also lose your jailbreak state also, but it can be cleared by downloading any of the jailbreak tools such as evasi0n.
